28th June, Sunday at 11am EST
6 spots open

This editing workshop is for those curious as to how I craft the atmosphere, color & texture in my work. In this session, we will deep-dive into my approach to post-processing - and learn about its potential to transform photographs into relics of emotion, bringing to life an evocative and powerful visual world.

This workshop will be focused on technique, but also about learning to work with our intuition & inner world to arrive at deeply personal images.

The workshop will cover the following:

- Taking RAW images from the camera & transforming them into surreal & atmospheric photographs using Lightroom

- Deep dive into my approach to crafting color, texture & light through Lightroom tools

- Making double exposures + insights into the technique

- Breakdown of other post-processing techniques I've used in my own work to get to specific emotional textures

- Dissecting the visual language of some of my favorite photographers, & the post-processing techniques they use in their work

- Live session exclusive: Q&A! Ample time for all of your questions related to editing

The session will be recorded and the recording + notes will be provided after.

Session time: 3 hours

Requirements: A basic familiarity with Lightroom

I host two live sessions each month, and you will receive scheduling details and a zoom invite via email after purchase.

If you wish to get the recorded course only, you will receive the recording + notes via email after purchase.

In their words

Petur

@petsyart

It really opened my eyes and has in a way broadened my perspective on photography. I have been very focused on street/documentary photography in my journey. Throughout I have been much more concrete in my approach, showing things as they realistically are, albeit through my own view/perspective. Listening to Vijay and seeing his work and process made me realize the absolutely ridiculous wealth of possibilities when approaching the photography medium from a much more abstract perspective, using the photograph more as a canvas to structure, compose and even paint your art in contrast to it merely being an image that is taken. Ahh it sure is hard to explain, but in my head it clicked! Absolutely loved the workshop, one of the best I've attended.

The workshop was fantastic and very insightful. I feel like a new door has opened up for me creatively and I can't wait to explore. Vijay is a really great teacher!

Trin

This workshop really helped light a fire under me with how I approach my photography, for the past months I've been stuck in that traditional narrative of photography where a photo is not good if it isn't sharp. Listening to Vijay helped re-open a part of me that felt locked away and my sense of curiosity for editing has been reignited. The session really helped give me the courage to be playful with my work but at the same time be methodical with what emotions I want to convey.

I appreciated that it wasn’t just a technical demonstration, but that Vijay walked us through his thought process behind the artistic choices he makes. But this was probably the best workshop I’ve attended so far. I'll definitely recommend.

Michael

It was very informative and I really enjoyed the approach to teaching the technical side of Lightroom through the lens of emotion and feeling of an image. It was great to get a feel for Vijay's process. I thought the workshop was well structured, starting with his own outlooks and philosophies regarding making images and getting into the tools he uses to achieve them. It felt well paced and engaging throughout the entire session and I’ll definitely be revisiting the video and notes. So much of art and photography is emotion and impression and I found Vijay's approach to teaching was anchored in this and that was what made the workshop special for me. “your job as an artist is to enter a conversation with an image” this quote from the session really stuck with me.

Such an informative and inspiring class. I can't wait to take these techniques and the creative energy shared and hone it into my own artistic voice.
